Hey all! So I just got back from visiting my little sister at College. It's been a long time coming because she's LITERALLY been asking me to visit for 3 years, and so this past week I was lucky enough to get to spend 5 days with her :) I applied lessons I learned from you all, like brining my own snacks to avoid paying for expensive airport food and used the new ImpulseSave feature that allows me to save via instagram!
I impulsesaved $15.00 by brining my own snacks on the plane. First of all it's healthier, second of all it saves me TONS of money! I literally saw a 20oz water bottle that cost $4.35 - are you joking?! It might seem silly but I actually never even thought about brining my own food on the plane (because they're SO hyper about liquids) but I learned through Money Crasher's #mcchat that it was not only possible but all of my frugal friends we're in on the trick!!
The morning after I arrived, my sister treated me ON HER COLLEGE BUDGET NO LESS to her favorite breakfast place in the nearby town. It was SCRUMPTIOUS - full of lip-lickin' food like biscuits and gravy and crispy bacon, eggs served with A1 sauce soooo good.
I was able to impulsesave right at breakfast instantly just by typing "Save $10 #impulsesave - the Sis is taking me out to breakfast!" in the caption - so cool right?!
Since we're both avid fans of Katniss Everdeen, I wanted to treat her to The Hunger Games on the big screen! We went to a matinee and impulsesaved $10 just by seeing the movie at 4:25pm instead of 5:15pm!
The rest of the trip we just spent time walking and talking. It was a great way to catch up, we didn't have to pay for any part of it and it was precious to see all the local scenery and get a sense of where she lives! We even found a place called the secret garden - pictured below!
I do have to confess that we went antiquing. After all they do say it is the antique capital of the world. I passed up several cute things but I did buy a $9 French Press for espresso (I was looking at buying a $30 Bodum one) and two jadeite coffee cups for $7.50 to remember the trip by - what do you think of them?
Part of the reason I LOVE my iPhone or any camera in general, it's free. You can take things with you without taking money out of your wallet or trying to find space in your home! Just check out the beautiful things we found!
So thanks for taking a look! I'm super excited about being able to save via Instagram guys - I mean it's SO FREAKING SIMPLE it just really can't get easier than taking a picture and writing a caption. So, if I've successfully piqued your interest about ImpulseSave or, if you want to SAVE WITH ME on ImpulseSave (I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE that) sign up now!
